The guys over at Casual Collective have done it again. Backyard Monsters is an adorable Facebook game which has been keeping me busy for the past two weeks. I started out with no idea what to do, or what the game was about, but I had faith and I came to understand that this is a great game.
The animations are wonderful and the battles are just as entertaining. You will be given your own backyard with a worker and some resources (twigs, pebbles, putty and goo).
After building and upgrading a few times you will soon you have access to new monsters and defence towers. This is where it gets really fun as you now have access to a map and can send your horde of monsters into battle against an opponents backyard. However, be careful as your opponent may retaliate. If your defences are not up to scratch then you’ll return to your backyard only to find that some scoundrel has stolen all your resources and destroyed your base! Do not fear, the casual collective have made sure an enemy can’t do too much damage. It only takes one click to begin repairing all your buildings and begin planning your next attack.
Backyard Monsters is my favourite game at the moment and the casual collective have managed to swindle another $20 from me to upgrade some of my yard. If you’re feeling the pressure from aggressive players then some more shiny will help. As you get stronger and face stronger opponents you will need extra workers and a bigger yard if you want to enact ruthless revenge on your nemesis(everybody has a nemesis!).
Backyard Monsters is still in beta, there are updates nearly every day which add some new feature or improvement. When backyard monsters turns version 1 we expect it to make big waves as it’s already a big hit amongst FaceGamers.
